Senior Solutions Architect – Microsoft Purview and SharePoint
As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a Senior Solutions Architect that is a specialist in Microsoft Purview and SharePoint to join our expanding AI, Security, Document & Records Management, Compliance, and Data Governance practice. This role provides an opportunity to lead enterprise-scale data governance, information protection, and compliance initiatives while working in a fast-paced, Microsoft-centric consulting environment.
The Senior Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing end-to-end compliance and records management solutions using Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365. As a trusted technical advisor, you will work closely with clients’ legal, compliance, security, and IT teams to translate regulatory and business requirements into scalable technical solutions and supporting them to perform enterprise migrations and deployments. This role plays a key part in enabling enterprise worthy content management systems, defensible data management, risk reduction, and organizational transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and architect Microsoft Purview solutions across:
Core capabilities such as Alerts, Auditing, Usage, Logs
Risk & Compliance including:
Communications, eDiscovery (Standard and Premium), Information Barriers and Records Management (EDRMS)
Data Governance including:
Data Lifecycle Management and Data Catalog
Data Security including:
Data Loss Prevention
Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) including DSPM for AI
Investigations
Sensitivity Labels and Information Protection
Insider Risk Management
Define Purview architecture aligned with Microsoft 365 (and non-Microsoft 365) workloads, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
Ensure solutions align with security, privacy, and compliance best practices.
Lead and architect end-to-end implementation of Microsoft Purview solutions, including configuration, migration, testing, and deployment.
Configure retention labels, retention policies, record declarations, and disposition review workflows.
Implement eDiscovery cases, legal holds, collections, reviews, and exports.
Integrate Purview with related Microsoft security services where required.
Translate legal, regulatory, and business requirements into technical compliance controls.
Advise clients on data governance frameworks, retention schedules, defensible deletion, and risk mitigation.
Support audits, investigations, regulatory inquiries, and compliance assessments.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients in Legal, Compliance, Security, and IT, collaborating with Clerks, Records/Compliance Managers, and security teams to provide best practice recommendations.
Provide architectural guidance for SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams integration, ensuring secure, compliant, and scalable collaboration solutions.
Identify opportunities to improve compliance operations through automation and standardization.
Optimize existing Purview configurations to improve performance, usability, and risk coverage.
Contribute to the development of reusable architectures, templates, and implementation standards.
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and governance runbooks.
Deliver workshops, training sessions, and knowledge transfer to client teams.
Support post-implementation stabilization and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay current on Microsoft compliance roadmap updates, regulatory trends, and emerging best practices.
Contribute to the evolution of internal Purview offerings, methodologies, and accelerators.
Support pre-sales activities, including solution design, estimates, and technical input for proposals.
Design and lead enterprise SharePoint Online architecture, including information architecture, site and hub strategy, metadata, permissions, and governance aligned with Microsoft Purview.
Lead enterprise-scale migrations to SharePoint Online from legacy platforms, file shares, and third-party systems, ensuring alignment with retention schedules, file plans, and sensitivity labeling.
Ensure migrated and modernized content is governed using Microsoft Purview records management, retention, DLP, and information protection controls.
Bringing With You
College, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Intimate experience in working with Retention Schedules and File Plans.
5+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 security, compliance, or information governance.
Hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Purview, including configuring DLP, File Plans, Sensitivity Labels and Retention Labels, and eDiscovery.
Strong understanding of data governance, records management, privacy, and compliance principles.
Hands-on experience in performing enterprise scale data migrations to SharePoint.
Experience working in a consulting or client-facing delivery role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Microsoft certifications (e.g., SC-400, SC-100, or other Microsoft Security certifications).
Experience supporting regulated industries (finance, healthcare, public sector, legal).
Knowledge of privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
Experience integrating Purview with Defender, Entra ID, and broader Microsoft security tooling.
Familiarity with project delivery methodologies and documentation standards.
Proven experience leading enterprise-scale compliance or records management initiatives.
